Dr. MA Xingrui was appointed as chairman of China Atomic Energy Athority

Dr. MA Xingrui was appointed as vice minister and member of the Leading Party Members' Group, of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; and as chairman of China Atomic Energy Athority.

Dr. MA Xingrui, born in October 1959, is a male ethnic Han from Yuncheng, Shandong Province. He joined the Communist Party of China(CPC) in January 1988 and entered the workforce in March 1988. He holds a Ph.D. degree. He is also a professor and doctor student supervisor as well as full member of International Academy of Astroautics. Dr. MA Xingrui was elected member of the Eighteenth CPC Central Committe and that of the Eleventh CPPCC National Committee.

In July 1982, Dr. MA Xingrui graduated from Liaoning Technical University with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Mechanics.

In March 1985, Dr. MA Xingrui graduated from Tianjin University with a Master's Degree in Mechanics.

In March 1988, Dr. MA Xingrui graduated from Harbin Institute of Technology with a Ph.D. Degree in Mechanics.

After graduation, Dr. MA Xingrui started to work in Harbin Institute of Technology. He served consecutively as deputy dean of  the Department of Space Science and Technology, deputy dean and then dean of the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics, deputy dean of the School of Astronautics and vice president of Harbin Institute of Technology.

In May 1996, he was appointed as vice president of China Academy of Space Technology of China Aerospace Corporation.

In September 1999, he was appointed as vice president and member of the Leading Party Members' Group, of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC).

In August 2007, he was appointed as secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and president, of CASC.

In March 2013, he was appointed as vice minister and member of Leading Party Members' Group, of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; and as administrator of China Atomic Energy Athority.
